Beginner FAQ
First-Timer Questions Answered
I've never had my car tinted—where do I even start?
Start with your goals: Do you want heat reduction? Privacy? UV protection? Style? Once we know your priorities and budget, we'll recommend the right darkness level and film type. Most first-time buyers go with 35% on fronts and 20% on rears for a balanced look that's legal in California.
How dark can I legally go in California?
California allows any darkness on rear side windows and back windshield. Front side windows must allow 70%+ light transmission (very light tint). Front windshield can only have a 4-inch strip at the top. We'll make sure your tint is 100% legal.
How much does window tinting cost for a first timer?
For a standard sedan, quality tinting ranges from $200-$500+ depending on film type. Ceramic (best heat rejection) costs more than dyed film but lasts longer and performs better. We offer packages at different price points and can work with your budget.
How long does the installation take?
Most vehicles take 2-4 hours. We'll give you an accurate time estimate when you schedule. You can wait in our shop or we can arrange a pickup time. The tint needs 3-5 days to fully cure—avoid rolling windows down during this period.
